Mind,
Body and Balance Massage is unique because of the way we combine
several massage techniques with a deep stroke for maximum
effectiveness.
This
method releases muscle tension, awakens and lengthens the muscle giving it
more blood flow and circulation as well as increased range of
motion. In other words, we just plain make you feel better.
Below
are massage techniques we frequently use:
Swedish
Massage | Swedish
Massage refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to
relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles
and bone and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood
returning to the heart.
Therapeutic/Deep
Tissue | Therapeutic, deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper
layers of muscle tissue, releasing chronic tension through slow,
deep strokes and finger pressure. Deep-tissue massage loosens tight
muscles, releases toxins from muscles and improves blood
circulation.
Shiatsu
| Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese healing method.
Shiatsu uses pressure point and stretching. The shiatsu involves
palms, fingers, thumbs, knuckles, elbows, knees and the feet to work
on the body's acupuncture points, along what they consider the
body's meridians or energy channels. It helps to balance a
person’s energy flow, and strengthen the vital organs.
Shiatsu means, "finger pressure.”
Trigger
Point | Trigger Point Therapy is a type of massage therapy that
reduces and sometimes completely eliminates muscular pain. Applying
specific gliding, compression, and stretching techniques to tender
areas in muscles called trigger points which are both painful to
touch and have the capability to "refer" pain to other
areas.
We also offer other techniques such as Thai
Massage and Hot Rock Massage. If you are interested in a type of
massage not listed here, please ask about it.
